Smartstat

I am a Warmly Yours customer going back to 2000. I had an older model where the timer and thermostat were separate units. In 2004, I purchased the Smartstat and wired up the new unit. I could never get the heating mat to work again. I ended up tearing out the floor and I am in the process of installing a new one. I have the Smartstat thermostat that I would like to use with the purchase of a new mat. However, my concern is that the thermostat doesn’t work, or shorted out. How can I tell if this is in good working order so I don’t have to spend another $169? |

Tim, I would recommend wiring the thermostat up to your house power. Use a voltmeter to make sure that it is being supplied with the proper voltage. Once the voltage in has been confirmed, turn the temperature up enough that the thermostat clicks itself on. (you should have 5 wavy bars displayed on the screen). Test the voltage across the 2 load wires – you should be showing the same voltage that you had across your line wires. If the thermostat isn’t passing voltage, something has gone wrong with it internally. In this case contact on our representatives, and we will see what we can do about getting you a new thermostat. |

Seth, Thank you on both accounts. I will try that. Tim |
