Hello,

I’m not sure what your contractor means by “the mesh is causing the thin tile to sink”. Our system is designed to be encased in a layer of thinset cement before any tile is laid over the top. The heat mat should have nothing to do with the level of the tile at this point in the installation. I am not a tile setter, but I would imagine that there is a way to set the thinner tiles on a thicker bed so that they are flush with the other tile.

If there is anyone else on this board that knows how to set tile, please feel free to chip in!

I hope this information is helpful, please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you!

-Seth

My contractor is having trouble laying my tile on top of the mesh because I am using a thin 3/16” 2×2 tile with some glass tile accents that are much thicker. He said the mesh is causing the thin tile to sink and cannot get it to be even close to the same height of the glass tile.
Any suggestions on how to lay the thin tile on top of this mesh?
Thanks,
