Will this product perform well on a concrete floor? What special installation shold be considered?

There is no problem using our system over a concrete slab. I would strongly recommend using some sort of thermal break; such as 1/4” cork or an insulated backer-board over the slab. This will prevent any heat being lost to the concrete. Here are two links that you might want to check out:
